When I compare snaps taken by the Sony with those taken by a Canon, I somehow feel that the Canon's snaps are better - its just a gut feel - I am unable to quantify the why. Maybe it is because of the way the Sony captures reds and blues - I dont know. Everytime I decide to upgrade to a Canon, I take a set of snaps that convinces me otherwise - and I end up continuing with the Sony!

Given below is the second collection of macro-like shots - most of these were captured at the Regents Park, London (the yellow rose was as usual captured near my home). Please click on the images for a larger version.

I'm no professional when it comes to photography, but I do have an eye for composition. I bought by current camera - a Sony DSC-H1 - about 3 years or so back, and considering that I upgrade my gadgets fairly frequently, I have surprisingly stuck by the DSC-H1 for a very long time now. The DSC-H1 is a 5 MP digital camera with a 12x optical zoom - what is most impressive about it is the way it captures light, its simplicity and ease of use. 

Given below are some of the good macro-like shots taken by me with the DSC-H1. Most of these were captured at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Edinburgh around April-May 2009 (the daisies and the yellow rose were captured near my home). Please click on the images for a larger version.

It has been a while since my last post - the reason being that I have been roaming around quite a bit with the camera. I now have a backlog of posts to-do for which the snaps are ready, but I haven't found the time yet to publish! [I also have a backlog of themes that I intend to take snaps for!]

While all of us have read about and know what Darwin's theory is, I have just never believed it. While the theory is technically possible, the chance of something as beautiful, symmetric and complex as nature 'just evolving' over time is something beyond statistical probability. And that was just my opinion before I saw the world through a macro lens!

Anyway, after spending 3years taking macro-like snaps, this is my first attempt into actual macro photography. The start of Spring is an excellent time for macro snaps, by the way.. [you might already know it, I just learned.. ] Given below is the best of the macro snaps till now.
